Christine Nieto (1965-2008) was a sister of Frances Naranjo Martinez (married to Marvin Martinez) and the daughter of Lorriane Naranjo.  This is one of the large pieces of her work we have had in the gallery.  It has a round shape and an asymmetric rim.  It is fully polished and fired brown in coloration.  It is etched with a series of interlocking flowers across the entire surface of the piece.   Christine was known for her brown-fired pottery and delicately etched designs.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “C. Nieto”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
