Andrew Padilla was a son of noted Laguna potter Gladys Paquin.  He learned to make pottery from his mother.  This is a classic white melon jar with 12 ribs.  Each rib is pushed out in the clay in an undulating manner.  The outside is slipped and polished white.  It was traditionally fired and is signed, “Andrew Padilla”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
