Doris Patricio was the matriarch of a family of exceptional potters, including Robert Patrico.  Each piece is coil-built and painted with bee-weed (black) and clay slips. This is a classic effigy bowl. The bowl has a bird head and there are dots painted on the bird.  The rim is corrugated and the “tail” is twisted.  There are flowers painted on the side.  It is a complex and creative piece of her pottery.  It is signed “D. Patricio”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
