Patricio, Kylie – Water Jar with Plant and Rain Designs

Kylie Patricio (b. 1999) is a 23-year-old daughter of noted potter Robert Patricio.  This jar is coil built and thin-walled. It has a classic Acoma water jar shape and a high shoulder and short neck.  The jar is painted with bee-weed and two colors of clay. The design has plant and cloud designs around the neck.  Around the shoulder is a colorful rainbow.  Around the body of the jar are clouds and mesa designs with a lot of fine-line work. The lines are delicate and even.  It is a colorful design on a classic shape.  The jar is signed, “K. Patricio”.  It is exciting to see such excellent work by young Acoma potters!
