WOW!  This is a spectacular large water jar by Robert Patricio. The jar is coil-built from native clay and painted with bee-weed and clay slips.  The jar is entitled, “Mountains of Sunflowers”.  The jar has a wide shoulder, short neck and fluted rim.  There are sunflowers painted on the neck of the jar.  The body of the jar is colorful with lightning, rain and geometric designs.  Note the small diamond shaped with the small patchwork design!  This jar has an incredible amount of line work. The shape is elegant, and the designs accentuate the dynamic form.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “R.  M.  Patricio”.  The jar has a second-place ribbon from the 2022 Santa Fe Indian Market.  The jar is a striking extension of his clay artistry and continues the amazing Acoma legacy.  Robert is one of the few artists who has won “Best of Pottery” at Santa Fe Indian Market two times, and most recently in 2022.
