Jamie Peynetsa is the son of noted potters Anderson and Avelia Peynetsa.  Avelia, his mother, coil builds the clay vessel.  Jamie paints the design.  He has strong attention to the detail of the painting as well as his inspiration from classic Zuni pottery.  This jar has sloping sides and a round shoulder.  The neck of the jar has large sections with rain and lightning designs.  The thin lines are the “rain” pattern.  Below the shoulder, there are eight swirling sections of clouds with fineline patterns.  It is a complicated painted design and visually striking.  Note how well Jamie paints to match design and form.  It is signed,  “Avelia Anderson and Jamie Peynetsa, 2021”.
