$ 900.00

Jamie Peynetsa is the son of noted potters Anderson and Avelia Peynetsa.  Avelia, his mother, coil builds the clay vessel.  Jamie paints the design.  He has strong attention to the detail of the painting as well as his inspiration from classic Zuni pottery.  This large canteen sits flat with around shoulders, an elongated neck, and handles.  It is slipped red and painted with black clay for the designs.  The top has a star and rainbird designs.  The sides have birds, dragonflies, tadpoles, and water bugs.   It is a complicated painted design that encompasses the entire surface and is visually striking.  Note how well Jamie paints to match design and form.  It is signed,  “Anderson J. Peynetsa, 2018”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
