Qoyawayma, Al – Asymmetric Polychrome Jar with Cliff Dwellings, Flute Player, and Corn

9.25'w x 12"h

$ 12,800.00

This is one of the largest asymmetric jars we have had from Al Qoyawayma.  The piece has an asymmetric rim and the large size gives a lot of space for design.  One side has a polychrome flute player and corn carved into the clay.  The opposite side has a massive Pueblo architectural scene.  Note how the pueblo cliff dwelling has areas that are recessed and the entire surface is fully carved!  Note the various shapes of the doors with the keyhole, square the even ones with the fallen beams!  It is a classic piece with a striking balance of designs and form. The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Al Qoyawayma”.  It is a new piece from 2022
