Ray, Joselita Brown – Jar with Undulating Rim and Plant Designs (1960s)

9.5"w x 7"h

$ 600.00

Jospelita Brown Ray (1907-2007) was known for her Acoma pottery shapes. This jar is signed, “Ray” and it was identified to me by Robert Patricio.  He said that Joselita was known for this shape with the undulating rim and that she would make them and put them outside to dry in the sun. This jar has a plant design painted around the outside with bee-weed (black). The rim is undulating in shape. It is signed, “Ray” on the bottom.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
