This is a creative storyteller by Marilyn Henderson Ray.  She is known for her intricate storytellers and figurative scenes. This storyteller is from the 1990s.  It has a male drummer as the storyteller.  The top of the drum has a butterfly painted on the surface.  There are eight kids on the figure, each has distinctive interaction with the larger figure.  There is exceptional painting on the belt and shirt of the drummer.  The entire piece is painted with various clay slips.  The storyteller is signed on the bottom, “M. Henderson”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
