Red Starr (Sioux) was married to Santa Clara potter Harriet Tafoya and learned to make Santa Clara pottery.  This bowl is round.  It is fully polished and fired a glassy black.  There is a buffalo etched into the clay on one side.  The opposite side has a sun face design with a feather design.  Separating them are eagle feather designs  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Red Starr”.
