Red Starr (Sioux) was married to Santa Clara potter Harriet Tafoya and learned to make Santa Clara pottery.  This is a small fully polished black jar.  Above the shoulder, there are etched feathers.  Around the side, there is a medallion with a Mudhead katsina.  The opposite side is a star design.  Separating are his signature eagle feathers.  There are three inset pieces of turquoise.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Red Starr”.
