Red Starr (Sioux) was married to Santa Clara potter Harriet Tafoya and learned to make Santa Clara pottery.  This bowl is fully polished and fired red.  The bowl is a larger piece of his pottery and it is fully designed.  The rim has a mountain and feather design.  On the sides are a large Sun and opposite a Blue Jay.  There are additional eagle feathers etched into the clay.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Red Starr”.
