Red Starr (Sioux) was married to Santa Clara potter Harriet Tafoya and learned to make Santa Clara pottery.  This is an early piece of his pottery and it is a small wedding vase. The entire piece is fully polished and fired red.  One side has a star and the opposite an eagle etched into the clay.  There is an inset piece of turquoise on the handle and on in the center of the star.  It is signed, “Red Starr”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
