Jeff Roller creates exceptional traditional pottery and there is remarkable attention to the crisp carved lines in his work as well as an evenness to his stone-polished surfaces.  This jar has a round body, an elongated neck, and a slight turn at the rim.  It is deeply carved around the body of the jar with mountain, step, and walking bear paw designs.  The jar was traditionally fired a brownish-black coloration. The coloration and polish on this piece are exceptional and draw the eye across the surface.  The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Jeff Roller”, 2023.
