Susan Roller Whittington (b. 1955) is a daughter of Toni Roller and a granddaughter of Margaret Tafoya.  She is the mother of Charles Lewis.  She learned to make pottery from her mother.  While she no longer makes pottery, most of her pieces were made during the 1990s.  There is always creativity and elegance in her work.  This small storage jar is fully polished red and has impressed bear paws as the design.  The lid is polished tan (the natural color of the clay).  The lid is in the shape of a bear.  Both pieces were traditionally fired.  It is signed, “Susan Roller”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
