Romero, Susan “Snowflake” – Seedpot with Avanyu, Pueblo Scene, Clouds (1980) Ribbon
$ 550.00
Susan “Snowflake” Romero’s pottery is highly polished and intricately etched with detailed imagery. Many of her skills are ones that she learned from her father, Joseph Lonewolf. This seedpot is fully polished and fully designed. One side has a stylized avanyu in a medallion. The opposite side has a Pueblo that is lightly etched away so that it is matte red. The top has cloud and the sun, as if one is looking down on the Pueblo! It is a creative idea for her pottery. The piece is signed on the bottom in the clay with her Tewa name, “Pho-sa-We”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. There is also First Place ribbon from 1980 Santa Fe Indian Market.
