WOW!  This is an extraordinary water jar by Lilly Salvador.  She is known for her thin-walled pottery and use of native materials to paint her designs.  This jar is painted with bee-weed and four different clay slips.  The jar has a high, round shoulder and a short neck.  The neck of the jar has fine-line rainclouds.  Below the rainclouds are double rainbows painted in two different colors of clay.  Below the rainbows are heartline deer and birds.  Each is painted with her famous blue-gray clay.  Each bird has a lot of color and design in their tails and bodies. The deer are surrounded by highly detailed flowers.  It is a spectacular use of form and design.  All the various colors are from natural clay slips.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Lilly”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
