Alisha Sanchez is a daughter-in-law of noted potter Carolyn Concho and is married to George Concho.  She learned to make pottery from George and Carolyn.  Each piece is coil-built, and she is known for her very tightly painted pottery. This plate has a fine-line starburst pattern.  It is accented with additional clay slips for color.  The charming surprise on the piece is on the back. There are two butterflies with a raised wing and highlighted with green and red clay.  The piece is signed, “Alisha Sanchez”.
