Maxine Sanchez (b. 1930) is a daughter of Clifford and Lita Garcia and the sister of Josephine Sanchez, Virginia Victorino, and Edna Chino.  She is an aunt of noted potter Sandra Victorino.  This jar is coil-built and made with native clay.  It is painted with bee-weed an clay slips. The jar has a fine-line rain pattern along with a flower motif. There are additional triangular cloud designs.  It is an interesting and complex pattern that matches the shape of the jar.  The jar is signed “Maxine Sanchez”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
