Myron Sarracino is one of the few Laguna potters working today. He learned to make pottery from Gladys Paquin and he creates pieces that are thin-walled and tightly painted. This is a classic water jar with a round body and an elongated neck. The body of the jar has large swirls inspired by the Tularosa pottery of the 1150-1325 era (see last photo). The swirls contrast a bold line with thin lines. The rim has a rain pattern and the neck has a tightly painted swirling cloud design. It is an elegant shape with a lot of surface design. The jar is signed on the bottom, “M. Sarracino”.
