Gwen Setalla is a daughter of noted potter Pauline Setalla.  This canteen is a complex shape and intricately painted. On one side are two hummingbirds and a flower.  The other side has a corn maiden figure. The remainder of the canteen is stippled and painted with tadpoles.  The lid is made from clay and attached to a side handle. The other two handles has a woven strap connecting them. The piece is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Gwen Setalla”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
