Gwen Setalla is a daughter of noted potter Pauline Setalla and sister of Dee Setalla and Stetson Setalla.  This is a large tile entitled, “Blessings for All Things”.   It is painted with bee-weed and clay slips.  The story of his piece is about how the prayer feather bundles are created each year in December.  The feathers from the birds, are seen being lowered down from the cliffs. To the left is a corn plant with prayer feathers.  To the right are the prayer feather bundles and the top has sun and rain.  It is a complex and interesting piece of Hopi culture. The piece was traditionally fired.  It is signed on the back “Aas-Ku-Mana”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
