Wayne Snowbird Shields is known for his figurative Santa Clara pottery. This is one of his Pueblo men. The figure is kneeling and has a bundle of wood on his back.  The wood is separate and attached by a cord around the figure’s neck and it rests on his arms.  The kilt of the figure is carved and then etched with designs.  The face is polished while the remainder is matte.  It is signed on the bottom.
