Helen Shupla was famous for her carved pottery as well as her exceptional melon jars.  This bowl is an early piece of her pottery.  It is round in shape and fully carved. There are lightning and prayer feather designs carved into the clay.  The entire surface is fully polished and the bowl was fired a deep black coloration.  It is signed on the bottom, “Helen Shupla.” It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
