5.25"w x 5.25"h

$ 200.00

Jackie Shutiva-Hista (b. 1961) is a daughter of noted potter Stella Shutiva.  She learned to make pottery from her mother who was known for her corrugated pottery. This piece is fully corrugated with a fluted rim. “Corrugated” is a technique that simply means that the coils are left exposed and are pressed down using a tool or the potter’s finger.  Jackie typically uses her finger to impress the clay, creating this stylistic appearance  This jar has 24 rows of corrugation from the rim to the base.   The jar is signed on the bottom, “J. H. Shutiva”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
