Mary Singer was known for her intricately carved pottery and figurative work.  This is one of her classic carved bowls.  There is an avanyu encircling the piece.  Note she carved using the negative space from the rim to create the rain designs.  The bowl is highly polished and fired a deep black.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  The piece is signed, “Mary Singer”.  While she no longer makes pottery, her work can be found in museums nationwide.
