Mary Singer was known for her intricately carved pottery and figurative work.  This is one of her classic carved engagement baskets.  There is an avanyu encircling the piece. The two handles are twisted and fully polished.  The avanyu and base are also fully polished. The bowl was fired a deep black.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  The piece is signed, “Mary Singer”.  While she no longer makes pottery, her work can be found in museums nationwide.
