11.75"w x 10"h

$ 1,200.00

Mary Small (b. 1940) is known for her traditional Jemez pottery.  It is not just her painting, which is distinctive, but the gray-colored clay that she uses is distinctive to her pottery.  This is one of the largest pieces of her work we have had.  It is very tightly painted with a flower design on the top. On the sides are eight star patterns and each star has a piece of turquoise in the center.  The piece has a striking coloration from the white, gray, and the firing.  It is signed on the bottom, “Mary Small”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
