Virginia Stevens-Garcia is known for her large Acoma pottery.  This jar is coil built and painted with bee-weed for the black. The jar has a high shoulder and a short neck.  It is fully painted with a rain pattern that combines the use of the white clay, thin lines, and black.  It extends from the rim to the base.  It is a striking use of form and design.  The jar is large and elegant in appearance the simple black and white contrasts!  The piece is signed with her hallmark.
