Kevin Stevens is a nephew of Theroline Bread and grandson of Vesta Bread.  This jar is made using a paddle-and-anvil technique and twice fired.  The black painted designs are derived from a mixture of mesquite sap and cactus spines.  The top half of the jar is slipped with white clay and the bottom is polished red.  The jar was double fired.  It is signed, “Kevin Stevens” and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
