Anita Suazo is a daughter of noted potter Belen Tapia.  This is a larger, early piece of her pottery.  It is coil-built, deeply carved, and highly polished. The jar has carved bird wings and cloud designs. Note how much of the imagery is carved in the negative space of the jar!  It is in very good condition and signed on the bottom in the clay, “Anita Suazo”.
