Susunkewa, Ida Poola – Jar with Geometric Designs (1980s)
Ida Poola Susunkewa (1953-2014) was known for her miniature pottery. She began making pottery in the 1970s. This jar is coil built and painted with bee-weed and a red clay slip. The shape is a classic Hopi storage jar with a wide shoulder and short neck. The jar is very highly detailed. It is signed on the bottom “Ida Poola Susunkewa”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. Shipping included.
