Cresencia Tafoya was the mother of noted potters Harriet Tafoya and Annie Baca. This is a classic wedding vase. It is coil-built and fully polished. The entire surface is fully polished and the wedding vase has a bear paw impressed into the clay on each side. The piece was traditionally fired to a glassy black. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. It is signed on the bottom, “Cresencia”.
