Dan Tafoya (1958-2016) was a son of Jose Daniel Tafoya Sr. and Billie Rose Tafoya.  He was a  brother of Matthew Tafoya, Phyllis Tafoya and, Lincoln Tafoya.  This jar is coil-built and fully polished. There is a Flute Player etched into the clay on each side.  One side, you can see the polishing marks, which may have been intentional so that they look like petroglyphs!  The piece was fired black.  It is signed on the bottom, “Dan Tafoya”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
