Jennifer Tafoya is known for her clay vessels and also her amazing animal figures. This is an extraordinary miniature jar. There are three realistic horses etched onto the jar. Each one is different from Appaloosa to Paint.  Behind them is a more deeply incised band with vertical lines and slipped with mica.  The rim of the jar has cloud designs.  The lid is polished and has an interlocking design.  It fits perfectly into the bowl.  For a small piece, it is incredibly complex.  All the various colors are derived from natural clay slips.  It is signed “Jennifer Moquino” and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  Jennifer continues to be one of the leading innovative potters working today!
