Laura Tafoya (b. 1946) is a daughter of noted potter Madeline Tafoya. She began making pottery in 1979. Each piece is coil-built, carved, stone polished, and traditionally fired. This bowl has 16 melon ribs, each carved into the clay. They start in a vertical manner but slightly swirl near the base. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Laura Tafoya” It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
