Youngblood, Nancy - 32 Straight Rib Mellon Bowl
Youngblood, Nancy - 32 Straight Rib Mellon Bowl
$ 850.00
LuAnn Tafoya is a daughter of Margaret Tafoya and learned to make large vessels from her mother. This jar is one of her classic-shaped smaller pieces that is fully polished. The bowl has an open shape with a fluted rim. The entire piece is fully polished, even the inside. It is a reflection of how great LuAnn can polish her pottery. It was fired to a glassy black. The pottery of LuAnn Tafoya is an important continuation of the traditions of her family and the pueblo. Today, few potters create pieces this size and the skill and beauty in LuAnn’s pottery is always remarkable! It is signed on the bottom, “LuAnn Tafoya”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
