This seddpot by Ray Tafoya is from 1981. It is an earlier piece of his pottery. The piece is fully polished and etched on one side.  There is a stylzied Deer dancer standing on a mountain.  In front is a Pueblo scene.  The “sun” is the hole for the seedpot and he etched the rays of the sun deeply into the surface of the clay.  It is an exceptional early in piece in terms of design.  The seedpot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom with his hallmark which is a White Mountain (his name in Tewa).
