Tahbo, Dianna – Jar with Moth Designs (1995)

7"w x 3.75"h

$ 850.00

Dianna Tahbo was known for her tightly painted pottery and especially her beautiful miniatures.  This piece is from 1995.  Dianna learned to make pottery from her brother, Mark Tahbo.  This jar is one of her elegant shapes with a wide shoulder and short neck.  The top is painted with three moth design.  They moth wings are red.  Separating them are stars.  One of the very first shows I had in the Scottsdale gallery was with Mark and Dianna, and I always enjoyed talking to them about their designs.  Everything was thought out with intention, which I think is why their pottery remains so relevant today!  The jar was traditionally fired, so there are blushes on the surface.  It is signed on the bottom, “Dianna Tahbo”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
