Dianna Tahbo was known for her tightly painted pottery and especially her beautiful miniatures. This jar has a round shape and an elongated neck. The rim is turned out and painted to resemble a flower. Around the top of the shoulder are three moths, which is a Chapella family design. Below the shoulder are rain and cloud designs. The jar was painted with bee-weed and polished red clay areas. THe piece was traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface. The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Dianna Tahbo” with a pipe for Tobacco Clan. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.

Dianna Tahbo was a sister of noted potter Mark Tahbo. She was also a great-great-granddaughter of Grace Chapella. She was known for her miniature pottery and fine line painting. Over the course of her career, she won numerous awards for her pottery including "Best of Miniatures" at Santa Fe Indian Market.
