Stella Teller (b. 1929) is one of the great names in contemporary Isleta Pueblo pottery. This is one of her classic jars.  It is polished white and painted on one side with a lizard and sand design.  The painted areas are brown, white, and her famous “blue” coloration.  The painted area is matte while the white is polished.  There is an inset band of turquoise hei-shi beads around the neck of the jar.  It is signed on the bottom, “Stella Teller”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
