Tenorio, Robert – 15″ Wide Jar with Kewa Birds
This is a massive jar by Robert Tenorio. The jar is painted with wild spinach (black) and red clay slips. The jar is coil built and it is one of Robert’s pieces from the 1980s. It has a very round body and a short neck. The jar is painted with four large panels, each with a different Kewa (Santo Domingo) style of bird. The neck is painted with a rain design. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Robert Tenorio, Kewa”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
