This is a classic Kewa-style water jar by Robert Tenorio.  The jar is painted with wild spinach (black) on a cream clay slip base.  The jar has a round shoulder with a short neck and a slightly turned-out rim. Around the neck are cloud designs. The shoulder has rain and sun patterns.  Below the shoulder are water designs.  The base is slipped red and the jar was traditionally fired which created the color variations on the surface.  The jar is signed on the bottom side in the clay, “Robert Tenorio, Kewa”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
