This is a sharp shoulder jart by Dora Tse-Pe. It is from 1983. The jar is a classic shape for her pottery with a sharp shoulder and sloping neck. It is highly polished and fired a silvery-black coloration. Dora was famous for both her thin-walled pottery and her highly polished surfaces. This jar has been two-toned with a sienna area. In the center of the sienna coloration is an inset piece of turquoise. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Dora Tse-Pe, 1983”.
