Tso, Jared – 13″ Tall White Jar with Swirl Polish and Arrowhead Neck Design

7.5"w x 13"h

$ 3,400.00

This is a tall jar by Jared Tso.  He is one of the rising stars of Native pottery.  He is a grandson of potter Faye Tso and his pottery is exceptionally refined in technique and traditional in style.  Each piece is coil-built from traditional native Navajo clay and traditionally fired.  This jar has a classic Navajo shape with a low shoulder and elongated neck. The jar is slipped with white clay and then polished in a swirl.  The rim has raised arrowheads that encircle the piece.  The piece was traditionally fired and the blushes are exceptional, ranging from black to red to brown. It is exciting to see an artist find inspiration in the historic work, and, using the same clays, refine them in a modernistic manner.  The jar is signed, “Jared Tso”.
