Tso, Jared – 20″ Wide “Dine Sun” Traditional Navajo Storage Jar

20"w x 19"h

$ 8,000.00

This is a thin-walled tall jar by Jared Tso.  He is one of the rising stars of Native pottery.  He is a grandson of potter Faye Tso and his pottery is exceptionally refined in technique and traditional in style.  Each piece is coil-built from traditional native Navajo clay and traditionally fired.  This large bowl is round in shape and fully polished with a swirl angle. The piece has a Navajo sun design in relief on the surface.  It was traditionally fired and then covered in pinon-pitch after the firing.  The jar has stunning fire clouds across the surface. Simply spectacular!  It is exciting to see an artist find inspiration in the historic work and, using the same clays, refine them in a modernistic manner.  The jar is signed, “Jared Tso”.
