This is an exceptional lidded box by Jared Tso.  The piece is one of a series and the shape is a rectangle. The lid of the box is incised, as is the top edge. The handle of the box is fully polished.  The lid sits perfectly onto the box.  The piece is entitled, “Embrace the Past”.  The surface has “bumps” that are inspired by the surface of a cactus and often seen on historic Navajo pottery.  It is fully polished and fired a brownish-black coloration.  Note the incised edge to the lid and the perfection of the feet!  It is outstanding. The box is signed, “Jared Tso”.  It has a blue ribbon from the 2025 Gallup Ceremonials and won “Best of Navajo Pottery”.
