Tso, Jared – “Squash Blossom” Jar
$ 3,400.00
Jared Tso is one of the rising stars of Native pottery. He is a grandson of potter Faye Tso and his pottery is exceptionally refined in technique and traditional in style. Each piece is coil-built from traditional native Navajo clay and traditionally fired. This is one of his iconic “squash blossom” jars. The shape is inspired by a classic squash blossom necklace (see last two photos for actual squash blossoms and the “blossoms” on a necklace). He has coil-built this piece with a round body and elongated neck. The exterior is polished, and the interior is slipped with white clay. The piece was traditionally fired to create the colorations. The colors are striking and varied. After the firing, it was covered in pinon pitch. It is signed, “Jared Tso”.
