This jar was made by Simon Vallo (1948-1999). He was a son of Henry and Juanita Vallo. He learned to make pottery from his mother. He married Marie Garcia and was the father of Kim Vallo, Leland Vallo, and Thomas Vallo. This jar is coil-built from native clay and painted with bee-weed. The jar has medallions with swirling plant designs. They are separated by plant and fine-line rain imagery. The jar is signed, “Simon Vallo”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
